Delete Your Data
Google Play requires every app to say how a user can delete their data. For Ummah Connect the answer is unusually simple, and this page gives it without making you hunt.
There is no account to delete. Ummah Connect never asked you for a name, an email or a password, and holds no profile about you on any server. Everything the app remembers is on your phone. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
On this page
1. Delete everything: uninstall
Press and hold the Ummah Connect icon, choose Uninstall, and confirm. That removes, permanently and immediately:
- every setting - language, calculation method, school of thought, azaan voice;
- your tasbeeh counts, targets and history;
- every downloaded Quran page and every downloaded recitation;
- your last-read position and reading preferences;
- the app's scheduled alarms and its notification channel.
Nothing survives on our side, because none of it was ever on our side.
2. Keep the app but wipe its data
If you want a clean start without losing the app:
Android Settings → Apps → Ummah Connect → Storage → Clear storage.
The app returns to its first-run state. Your downloads and counts are gone; the app itself stays installed.
3. Remove the advertising identifier
The ID that AdMob may use for ads is owned by Android, not by the app, so it is deleted in Android:
Settings → Privacy → Ads, then Delete advertising ID (or Reset advertising ID if you only want a fresh one). On some phones this sits under Google → Ads.
Deleting it stops apps on the phone, including this one, from using it at all.
4. Analytics and crash data
The app sends anonymous usage counts and crash reports to Google Firebase. These carry a device-generated identifier and never your name or email, since the app has neither.
They are removed in two ways:
- Uninstalling ends all future collection from that device immediately.
- Existing records expire under Google's Firebase retention settings. If you want them purged sooner, write to us as described below and we will submit a deletion request for that installation identifier.
5. Ask us to delete something
If you want a written confirmation, or you want analytics records for your device purged, email reviewummahconnect@gmail.com with the subject Data deletion request, and tell us:
- your phone model and Android version;
- roughly when you installed the app;
- whether you want a confirmation reply.
We will act within 30 days and reply to confirm. We will not ask you to create an account to make the request - that would be absurd, given the app never had one.
Please note we cannot identify "your" analytics rows from a name or an email, because they are not stored against one. What we can do is purge the installation identifier for the device you describe.
6. What cannot be deleted
Two honest exceptions:
- Fully aggregated figures - once a count like "this screen was opened N times in India last month" has been rolled up, no individual contribution remains in it to remove.
- Your Google Play record - the fact that your Google account downloaded this app is held by Google, not by us. Remove it from the Play Store's own library: Play Store → Manage apps and device → Manage → Not installed.
Something here unclear, or something that does not match what the app actually does? Write to reviewummahconnect@gmail.com and it gets corrected.
