Almost every message we get is one of four things, and all four are settings on your phone rather than bugs in the app. Try the fix, and if it does not work, write in - a specific report gets a real answer.
Write to reviewummahconnect@gmail.com. Include your phone model, your Android version and the app version from Settings. With those three lines a problem can usually be diagnosed on the first reply; without them it takes four.

1. The azaan did not sound
This is Android putting the app to sleep, and there are three switches to check. Do all three - fixing one and not the others is why people report it twice.
- Battery - Settings → Apps → Ummah Connect → Battery → Unrestricted. On Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus phones there is a second, separate "Autostart" or "Background restriction" switch, and it is usually the real culprit.
- Exact alarms - Settings → Apps → Ummah Connect → Alarms & reminders must be allowed. Android 12 and newer can revoke this silently.
- Notifications and Do Not Disturb - notifications for the app must be on, and if you use Do Not Disturb overnight, add Ummah Connect to its exceptions or Fajr will be muted every morning.
The app asks for all of these on first run. If you tapped past that prompt, set them by hand now.
2. The prayer times do not match my mosque
Usually correct behaviour, not a fault. Prayer times are calculated, and mosques choose their own parameters.
- Open Settings → Calculation method and pick the one your mosque or local committee follows. This is the setting that moves Fajr and Isha.
- Set the school of thought correctly - it is what changes Asr, often by 40 minutes or more.
- Check the app has a current location, and that your phone's time zone is right. A stale location gives yesterday's city's times.
If, after matching the method and school, the app is still several minutes out from your mosque, send us your city and your settings and we will look at it.
3. Quran audio will not play, or downloads stall
Recitation audio is streamed from an external service the first time, then kept if you download it.
- Confirm you have a working connection, and try a different surah - a single failing file is a source problem, not an app one.
- Download over Wi-Fi. A whole-Quran audio download is large and mobile data savers interrupt it.
- Check free storage. An interrupted download leaves the surah playable only while online.
- If audio plays but you cannot hear it, check the media volume specifically - not the ringer.
4. Live Makkah or Madinah will not load
Those streams come from broadcast servers we do not operate. They do go down, and they are busiest at Jumma, taraweeh and during Haj - exactly when everybody opens them.
- Try the other channel. If one works and the other does not, the source is down.
- Some mobile networks and public Wi-Fi block live streaming. Try mobile data instead of Wi-Fi, or the reverse.
- If both channels fail on two different networks, tell us - that is worth investigating.
5. The Virtual Haram is slow or will not open
The Virtual Haram is real-time 3D, which is the most demanding thing in the app. It needs a reasonably recent phone and a working GPU driver.
- Close other apps before opening it - it wants memory.
- Take the phone off battery-saver mode, which throttles the GPU on many devices.
- If it opens but stutters, it is your device's limit rather than a setting.
- If it does not open at all, send us your phone model - we keep a list.
6. Report a bug, or ask for a feature
Mail reviewummahconnect@gmail.com. A report that gets fixed quickly contains:
- your phone model and Android version;
- the app version, from Settings;
- which screen, and what you tapped;
- what you expected, and what happened instead;
- a screenshot, if there is anything to see.
Feature requests are read, all of them. The ones that get built are the ones several people ask for independently.
7. A correction in religious content
If a dua, a translation, a Zakat rule or a step in the Haj guide is wrong, that is the highest-priority category of report we have. Send the screen, the text as it appears, and what it should say. Where you can, name the source you are relying on - it makes the fix verifiable rather than a matter of two opinions.
8. Legal and privacy
Privacy Policy - what the app collects, in detail.
Terms of Use - the terms you use the app under.
Delete Your Data - how to remove everything.
Something here unclear, or something that does not match what the app actually does? Write to reviewummahconnect@gmail.com and it gets corrected.
