Islamic New Year 2026
Tuesday, 16 June 2026
1 Muharram 1448 AH
These dates are calculated, not announced. The Islamic month begins when the new moon is sighted, which can fall a day before or after the arithmetic. Your local moon-sighting committee's announcement is what counts — treat this as a plan, not a ruling.
1 Muharram, the first day of the Hijri year, counted from the Hijrah to Madinah.
